iTunes 10 rant, ahem, I’m wondering who’s bright idea this was.
Prettier … well … sure, it streamlines the top a bit.
Compacter … yep, a wee bit more screen, a scrap more pixels, yay!
But at the cost of:
breaking with the entire Mac OSX user interface standard
breaking the form follows function design principle (the function being closing/minimising/resizing)
using the counter intuitive vertical direction for these control elements
pissing people off so much they find hacks for it to change it back to normal
This is a ridiculous idea and I think Apple should change it back. Voila rant finished.

TED, the future of UI. He mentions at the end of the presentation that he believes every PC will come equipped with this kind of interface 5 years from now. I’m going to do my absolute best to remember and think about this presentation in 2015. Tic toc tic toc …
